Financial Planning

Creating Your Financial Roadmap.

Consider your financial life as a journey, with financial security and independence as the destination. Your financial plan is the map with which we can plan this journey. Along the way, we seek to avoid obstacles which may prevent you from reaching your destination. Careful planning helps reduce uncertainty, clearly pointing out where you are now, and the best way to get to where you wish to be.  Less uncertainty means less stress - and that is a good thing.

The Devil is in the Details!

I admit it.  I am obsessive when it comes to financial planning.  Any financial representative can slap together some sophisticated-looking reports, charts, and graphs and call it a financial plan.  But have they used the data to really understand your financial life in great detail?   I do.  I often find I spend a lot of time dwelling over (obsessing over) the minutest of details.  Why?  Because I don't feel comfortable presenting projections unless I can explain fully with confidence what they mean, and where the numbers came from.  I feel I must fully understand your financial life before I feel comfortable making recommendations which you might rely on.  It's just me.  I've said it before, this is important stuff, and should not be taken lightly, so I don't.  In short, you want to choose Financial Pathways because I know of no one who will take your financial plan as seriously as I do.

Worry Less, Enjoy Life More!

The plan answers questions that may be causing you to lose sleep at night.  Such as:

  • Will I have enough money to retire?
  • How long will my money last?
  • Can I afford to travel in retirement?
  • Should I downsize my house?
  • Is my investment strategy ok for my retirement years?
  • Do I need a distribution strategy?  How much can I safely withdraw?
  • Can I afford to put my kids through college and still retire someday?
  • Will there be financial aid available to help?
  • What other resources are available to help pay for college?
  • Is my investment and retirement strategy tax efficient?
  • Does it make sense to pay off my mortgage?
  • Should I save for retirement or college, even if I have outstanding debt?
  • Am I saving enough to meet my goals?
  • Does my investment strategy make sense?
  • Should I be changing my strategy with all the recent market turbulence?
  • Do I have the right amount and kind of insurance to protect against the unexpected? Am I paying too much?
  • What will happen to my assets when I die?  Do I have to worry about estate taxes?
  • What if I, or my spouse, needs to enter a nursing home?  I want to leave something for my kids.
